First right click on the speaker icon.

Once you click on the speaker icon this menu will come up and you will need to select “ open sound settings”.

Please click the square button in the top-right corner next to the "X" to maximize the Sound Settings window. On the left side of that window, click on Sound Control Panel.

Select the playback tab, highlight the speakers icon and click on properties.

Click on enhancements tab

Check the “disable all sound effects” then click apply. Then close.

After closing, go to the Start Menu and restart your laptop to finish applying the change.
